200 MILES

$222/MILE

MAY 15–26

A US RECONNAISSANCE MARINE will be leading the way on a challenging 200-mile trek across the state of Michigan. The primary objective is to raise awareness and support for veterans throughout the state, with a fundraising goal of $222 per mile. The funds raised will provide crucial assistance to veterans in crisis, including legal, mental, physical, and housing support. The journey will start on the morning of May 15th at The Boulevard Inn & Bistro in Saint Joseph, and will conclude on the morning of May 26th, Memorial Day, at 800 S Main Street in Royal Oak, coinciding with the Memorial Day Parade.

Each day of the 12-day trek will cover approximately 15–20 miles, with checkpoints set up every 5 miles. The step off time will be @0600 every morning. Your participation, support, and donations are greatly appreciated in this inaugural event uniting communities across Michigan. Whether you are an individual, a business, or anyone in between, we invite you to join us in honoring and
supporting our veterans.

TREK FOR VETS 2025

ROUTE COURSE

The course starts on the west side of the state, right on Lake Michigan. The next 12 days are a trek east across the state. Each day is broken into checkpoints for people to join in. The final day’s walk will end at the Royal Oak Memorial Day Parade where the trek will become part of the parade itself and end at City Hall.

Taylor Christensen wrote an article in the Royal Oak Review (Published May 12, 2025) about Trek For Vets and the story of Lawrence Miller. Please read about the trek and how it will end at the Memorial Day Parade in Royal Oak.
